Last Friday, at 9:32pm, I became a father. My son Armani Christian Valentino aka Armani 2.0 (to the left), was born into the world. His birth was a very interesting experience for both me and the mother. I received a call from her the day before that they wanted to keep her at the hospital and induce labor. Well, although I didn't want that for her or the baby, after speaking with the doctor over the phone, I agreed and told her that I would be on my way in a few hours. I got to the hospital a few hours later. I slept at the hospital, and I didn't receive any rest; not that I was expecting to but...hey...I tried. Well, the next day came along and I was tired and had to deal with multiple visitors. This wasn't a good thing for me because one of the only times I get irritable with people is when I am exhausted. Well, just as the visitors left, my mother came into the room! ;-) This was an uplifting moment in my day because she could tell her son was tired. At this time, so was my son's mother. So, I decided to tell the nurses and my mother that we would all have to stay out of the room for a couple of hours so that she could get some rest. After going with my mother and taking her to get something to eat, I came back around 7:30pm or so and went to straight to sleep. As soon as I hit dream state, I heard my name Armani...I thought I was dreaming. I then heard it a couple of more times and the last time was a gut-wrenching yell of my name, "ARMANI!!!!!" I then woke up. My heart was pounding. I was breathing hard, and my eyes were hurting trying to open. This was around 9:08pm. I had literally jumped up from my sleep, and had to get myself in order very quickly because the next words that I heard were "Oh my God! I think the baby is coming!" The sense of urgency was in the room. The nurse obviously saw the vitals change drastically as she all of the sudden came into the room. At this time, my fiance' is hollering out "Can I get an epidural? I'm in extreme pain. I need something!" She had already had an epidural many hours earlier. So, of course giving an epidural wasn't going to happen again. The nurse, calmly explained that she couldn't give her anything and that the PAIN WAS GOOD FOR HER IN KNOWING THAT THE BABY WAS COMING & WOULD THAT THE IT WOULD HELP HER PUSH!!! At this point the nurse sees that this is ACTIVE LABOR, and begins to get the room ready for delivery, and calls the doctor to let him know to make his way there. The nurse talks to me and the mother on what was happening, and instructs both of us what to do. After she gives instructions and the second PUSH happened, she left the room. At this time, I asked her did I need to put the gloves on because it was just the nurse, myself, and the mother in the room. No doctor had showed up, and there were no other nurses in the room. When the nurse left the room, his head was almost out and this was ONLY the 3rd push. At this time, I begin to yell for the nurse and was about to put my gloves on and get my son out myself. LOL Just as I was about to do so, she came back in and begin to pull Armani 2.0 out of his mother's womb. Shortly after she came in, 2 other nurses entered the room in their delivery gear to assist. You're probably saying okay Armani. Nice story, but where are you going? Well, it's simple. This event of my son coming into the world reminded me that if we can take on everyday with the kind of joy and focus as I did this one, THE BIRTHING OF OUR IDEAS ARE SURE TO HAPPEN, IF WE...PUSH. It doesn't matter if there's an expert around or not...USE THE HELP THAT'S IN THE ROOM! Therefore, IF YOU HAVE TO in order to save your own life or the life of the dreams you have inside of you, I encourage you to INDUCE LABOR...TODAY for THE DREAM that you've been carrying. And remember...TOMORROW NEVER COMES...DO IT NOW! Claim the INCREASE~ SEE YOU AT THE TOP!!!
